THE FOLLOWING ARE EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC SETTLEMENTS FOR CLIENTS I REPRESENTED:

 

$1,000,000.00 settlement to a young woman who sustained facial lacerations, fractured elbow, and a fractured knee requiring surgery as a result of an intoxicated driver who attempted to turn left in front of her.

 

$860,000.00 settlement for injuries to two boys for broken legs caused when a floating dock exploded.

 

$325,000.00 settlement for a woman who was rearended by a truck, sustaining herniated discs in her neck and lower back which required surgery.

 

$600,000.00 settlement for wrongful death caused by intoxicated driver who had been overserved alcohol at a restaurant/bar, and $925,000.00 for severe head injuries and vision loss sustained by a passenger in the same accident.

 

$5,500,000.00 settlement for a motorcyclist who sustained severe head injuries and multiple fractures of his pelvis due to a construction defect left in the highway.

Pedestrian Accidents:

 

16 year-old was struck in a crosswalk in Bellevue, Washington, while walking home from a school dance at night, sustaining a bilateral mandibular (jaw) fracture requiring surgical repair, a large right thigh laceration, and traumatic brain injury.

 

Motorcycle Accidents: 

 

Motorcyclist was forced into a concrete barrier by a vehicle towing a flatbed that was improperly connected and came apart, veering into his lane on I-5 in Seattle, Washington.  He sustained severe knee and leg injuries requiring surgery, as well as neck and back injuries.

 

Motorcyclist veered off the road to avoid an oncoming vehicle, which causing him to go through a barbed wire fence.  The wire scalped him and caused multiple skull fractures.  He underwent surgery to repair the skull fractures and skin grafting, and was forced to wear a helmet for 6 months until his fractures sufficiently healed, but was left with traumatic brain injury.

 

Defective Products:

 

A truck mechanic was working on a large diesel radiator on a platform above him when the bolt supplied by the manufacturer sheared off, causing the radiator to split his head open, requiring surgery to repair a skull fracture.  He was a bald man who was left with a large scar from one ear to the other and severe traumatic brain injury.

 

Babysitter/Daycare Negligence:

 

A toddler's hands were severely burned when a babysitter allowed him to touch a hot wood stove.

 

A 9 month old inhaled a bit of hotdog at a daycare.  She was fed a mix of cornbread and chopped up hot dogs for lunch when she was not old enough to eat such foods, which required surgical removal of the hotdog from her lung.

 

Boating/Parasailing Accidents:

 

A passenger was asleep on a friend's boat that was at anchor late at night in Lake Union, with no lights on, when in was struck by a motor boat that was speeding through the lake in the dark.  The passenger sustained severe fractures to her right leg and arm, concussion, and had to be resuscitated by paramedics.

 

A parasailer in Elliot Bay sustained cut lips and gums causing permanent facial scarring when the winch failed, causing the parasailer's rope to break which struck her in the mouth
